Hey guys. I know I haven't been around in a while so I have four songs for you. The first is a Devo cover.

Mongoloid In this track, I took elements from 4 devo songs. (Mongoloid, I Can't Get No Satisfactoin, Gut Feeling, and Srivel Up) I took a long time to record and produce, so I hope you like it.
Surf TownThis song is from an old Nickelodeon show called Rocket Power. It was in an episode called Beach Boyz and a girl. It was played a few times throughout the show, but it was very short. Maybe 20 to 30 seconds long each time. Then one time when I was watching it, I noticed that each clip had different lyrics so I sat down and tried to make them out for about 30 minutes, wrote them on a pad a recorded them into a longer song. (Being that I always liked it) An interesting side note is that Mark Mothersbaugh also did the theme song for that show.
The Odd Way You hurt Me This is an original song I did a few weeks back. It's bpretty much a song about what would happen if somebody tried to beat up Superman except with different more down to earth (no pun intended) characters. In this case, a bully and a wimp.
The Streets/Going Back The is actually two songs in one. The first called "The Streets" is just an electric piano solo that I played over a field recording of nightcrawlers. It was going to be a segway into another track on a home-made album at some point in the future and is very short. I wanted to let you guys hear it, but I didn't want to upload such a short song by itself so I added it in with the next song which is Going Back. With that song I wanted to write a very mellow song which I hadn't done in a while. It started out and mostly ended as a song full of contradictions.

Also, due to a hard drive error (my dropping it) I lost the multitracks and most of the Wav. files for the first 3 songs (which pisses me off to no end) so I can't really take any mix advise for those. I wish I could. I put them up anyway because I wanted to know what you guys thought. I hope you like them, and if you decide to thank you for taking the time to read through all of this and listen to my songs.

-Adam.

huge devo fan here, cover is cool, only thing i didn't really dig was the vocal performance. The singer is good, but that's the problem, the music is so expressive and quirky, and his affect is so static, so pro sounding, it robs the tune of its twisted edge. Odd choice because the music is offering an even stranger comment on the original sound, really drawing out the quirk.

I remember when Devo's 1st single became available in Australia. It had Satisfaction (the BEST ever stones cover) as well as Sloppy. I couldn't get enough of 'em until The post Whip It material.
I saw them in Sydney on their 1st tour downunder - coincided with the Coalmine cover single.
Good covers Adam, you brought something new to them - taht's the point afterall - no point doing a slavish copy - after all Devo reinterpreted (pretty radically) Icons as well as building their own.
I'm too old for Nickleodeon but Surf Town is cool - the keyboard theme is spot on for the genre. The man did Rugrats stuff too!
I had a hard drive crash last year - my wife dropped the 320gig external & I lost about 2 gig of my music so I feel your pain!!
I like the dialogue in The Odd Way - especially since I've been a sad sack cartoon addict most of my life. Good melody!
The nighcrawler Streets thing has a really cool Rhodes sound on it - I wish I still had mine. What did you use for the field recordings?

Thanks man! I used a laptop and a usb mic (samson CO1U) for the field recordings. I recorded in mono then split and panned.
