I dont want a p4. My celerons have treated me right for EVER.

Also, I dont want a VIA chipset.

SO whats the deal with intel??
The BX chipset ruled... but now they dont make any boards with it.. and the only chipset for piiis is the old 815... which only supports 512MB RAM????

WHY?????

of course, all of the chipsets for the LAME_A$$ED p4 support more memory.... WHY NOT MAKE A pIII board that can hold a couple GBs of RAM, HUH???

I know why... cuz then i would NEVER EVER buy a p4. EVR.

Don't fret young camm, where all victims of some kind!

I have a similar beef. But with windows operating systems. Thats why I still use win 95b for audio. It works fine and just doesn't crash ever. I don't need no fluffy cuddly buttons in explorer and all the other new crap THEY think we need. Untill my computer brakes I ain't changing it. So I run a duel boot win95b or win_nt. Need the NT for my animation day job.

I wouldnt change either... but my BX board is running a little....weird. It doesnt "technically" support my processor... and I cant o/c it at all....AND my buddy needs a board for his 450.... so this one would be great!... and stuff..

I don't think you understand their marketing strategy: They can't force you to upgrade if you have choices!!!

Same way with Windows.... the only way to FORCE you to accepting XP or Win2K is to drop all support, files, drivers or any hint that the product every existed. And to punish any computer seller that would dare to give you an alternative.

It doesn't matter that it doesn't work. Then they wouldn't be able to sell you telephone support at $35 a call. And in two years when the NEXT version comes out, they can now use all those nifty remote control accessories to disable your system so that you HAVE NO CHOICE but to upgrade or lose all functioning of your system.

Step back and take a look at the big picture....
