I am currently using a Yamaha AW4416 for recording. I do my music production on the Roland XP60, the Ensoniq ASRX PRO and the Yamaha RS7000. I appreciate the set-up but I'm looking for more sounds and the ability to use multple instruments withoit having to switch cables around or save songs to 3 different types of media for just 1 song (XP60 and ASRX uses floppy and RS7000 uses SmartMedia cards). I am thinking about buying a Motif to use as a stnd-alone music production tool and maybe even going to Pro-Tools for recording. I heard that Propellerheads Reason was a good tool for music production but I am oblivios hen it comes to computer-based music production and recording. I'd like to know if it's something worth doing or should I jyust continue along the same path I'm on. I've heard that using computer-based recording and music production pograms will cost a lot more money in the long run (plug-ins etc.) could anybody shed some light on the subject? PLEASE.
