my bass player got a good (or maybe even great) deal on a gallien-krueger 700RB/115 (225W) last night. the reason mainly is because of the dent on the cone. there are no holes, and the dent is not at the center of the cone. he tried it out before buying and it sounded fine except for a couple of clipping problems, but that could be just him plucking the strings the wrong way. will the dent affect the amp's performance?

I doubt the dent will have any influence on the amp. You could take a piece of duct tape and tape it on to the dent and try and pull it out. I have fixed dents in speakers that way.
As for the actual performance of the amp, it will not hurt the amp in anyway, I am not exactly sure what you mean.

True. I doubt that you'll ever hear the difference. My neice pushed a dome on a 15" speaker with her finger (and really did a job on it) many years ago and I pulled it out just as desribed by dragonworks. I still have it and it works fine.

isnt that what those little cone mounds are for? My god its hard to resist poking them in. Its like bubble wrap.....

I got all warm and fuzzy once after poking a screwdriver through a new 18" Guass. Funny how its one way for a sec, and then in a split second its altogether different.
