Our band is going to be going into the studio in august and we're working on a bunch of new stuff and I'm in charge of putting together demos of all our songs because the engineer at the studios wants to hear them before we start tracking. Anyways, here's a song of ours, it's not quite done, one of the guitar players hasn't come in to play his part. So tell me what you think. I'd kinda like to try to impress the engineer at the studio so that I could do some interning there sometime.

you gon' drown

I'd say it's very good. I would roll back the lows on the kick. The vocals are a bit too forward. But it's better to err on the side of too much vocal, so tred lightly.

okay, thanks! ill keep those in mind when i do the final mix!

Gee I hope the guitarist doesn't add too much to it - a good sound and balance of parts is already in place.
Nice spectral bit of neo Radio Head without the overdose melodrama in the vox.
The bass really needs some definition for me either a 3khz boost or make it more sub bass but beware the rumble.

The other guitar part isnt very big, so it should be ok. It goes along with the bass pretty much. Radiohead is one of our bands biggest influences, so I guess we will take that as a compliment. I keep that in mind about the bass, thanks

Good stuff man...I hear a little bit of Jeff Buckley and Coldplay thrown in for good measure. The guitar that's panned to the left seems a little fizzy, but that's minor. I like the textural ambient stuff you have going on sounds great. Yeah, maybe the vocals are a little too forward, but it's not annoyingly noticeable. Overall...nice.

We often get compared to coldplay and Jeff Buckley a lot too. Thanks for your input

I never thought I'd see Jeff Buckley put in the same sentence with Coldplay. Nope, I really didn't. :D

I haven't listened yet, but a well defined demo is of great help to an engineer working with a band he's never heard before. So kudos to you for taking it seriously!

We really only get the Jeff Buckley thing because of his voice. Oddly enough, thats kinda how we get the coldplay thing too
