i'm recording on to a minidisc through a mixing board. the stereo through the headphones on the mixing board sounds fine. but, when i transfer the sound from the mini disc to the editing software the wave in one channel is diminished and also sounds deminished played from the minidisc player.

would anyone know what might be wrong with the disc player?

regards niall

The mini-source is full output on both sides?
Is there anything setting levels on the recieving end?

maybe a bad cable in there somewhere, what cables are you using? It may also be one of the output connections on the md player, maybe try cleaning out the inside connection.

How are you transfering the sound from the mini disc to the editing software?

the mini disc only has a single level metre so i'm not sure. i'm recording onto it via a mixing console and the levels are fine there.

sorry for the late reply

i've tried several cables and same result. my suspicion was the md connections too, what would you suggest the best way to clean it? sorry for the late reply
