Ok, I did some searching but all of the info I'm turning up is dated (at least a month to two months old anyway).

I just found a good deal on the Delta44 and would like to hear from at least ONE person who's got it fully running on Windows 2000....ASIO and the whole bit. No cracking or popping...and the channel seperation issue needs to be resolved (it appears to be from the text at m-audio's site).

If one person's got it working, then I'm going to buy.

Thanks,

Ok here's what I've learned.

The Delta series has some serious driver limitations on Windows 2000 when running in non-ASIO applications. Apparently, however, the card works properly otherwise.

n-Track does ASIO. Support has recently been improved for the Delta series in n-Track.

Does the Delta run with n-Track in ASIO mode on Windows 2000?

Ok, according to Flavio, the author of n-Track, it's going to work.

Thanks for nothin guys :) heh

I found the Delta44 for $199 with free shipping....I just placed the order...if this deal is for real, I'll post the vendor in the hot deals forum.

Well looks like you got it all sorted out!

FYI, I'm running a Delta 1010 which uses the same drivers as the Delta 44 on Windows 2000 Pro with Nuendo using ASIO. No pops, clicks or otherwise annoying problems.

Delta 44 $199??

I'd love to know where I could get that card for $199... I've been wanting to get one.. been searching all over the web, but couldn't find it for 199 :) keep us posted if its a solid deal!! :)

Sorry for the slow response. But yes, with the latest set of drivers I do have the ASIO part working with 4 tracks in N-Track in Windows2000. A couple things: You have to use 24 bit. It won't let you default it to 16 and still use the ASIO, I dont know why. Also, it shows 6 inputs, and I don't know why. You have to kind of figure out which ones are the correct ones. But my tests have been successful so far.
The config is a P3 733, 384Mb RAM, 15 & 20G HDs, Delta44

I'm not going to mention where I got it until I actually get it. It was backordered yesterday, but I got a message TODAY saying that it shipped. This store has FREE overnight shipping too! So hopefully tomorrow I'll have it....then I'll spread the word! They also have the Delta66 for $319 and the Delta1010 for $699.

Thanks man! I'll let you know how my experience goes too. Are you running the latest build of n-Track? It was just updated a few days ago and includes better support specifically for Delta cards.

Wow, I actually got it today! I guess the deal's fer real.

I bought it at http://www.outpost.com ... an unlikely vendor for sure. My girlfriend found it searching on ZDNet. Like I said, Delta44 with free overnight shipping for $199.

I took a look... weird pricing... the Delta 44 was there for indeed $199.95. But the Delta 66 is there for $319.95, which is $120 more than the Delta 44 even though the list price differential is only $100. And the 1010 is there too for $699.95. Meanwhile at Bayview Pro Audio the Delta 66 is $299, while the Delta 1010 is $599.95, bundled with Sonic Foundry's Vegas Audio, XFX 1, 2, and 3, and Siren, is $599.95. As I said, weird...

Yeah you're right.

The lowest I saw the Delta44 was $269 at 8th street, and the highest I saw it was for $349, so the $199 price is damn good. I didn't see the Delta66 for $299, but I did see it go as high as $400. I didn't really look at the Delta1010.

It's almost like the pricing is just plain goofed up. This company sells a WIDE variety of crap, and these soundcards being in their catalog is weird enough. I'm guessing that they're not really paying attention. One reason I didn't say where I bought it right off is that I thought it might be a mistake.

I feel bad for people who recently bought the Audiophile for the same price as the Delta44 at outpost.
