Delta 66/ Omni with Win XP

Hey guys I just got my Delta 66 and Omni package in the mail yesterday off ebay. The thing is this model is older so it wasnt shipped with the XP drivers. So I downloaded the lateset XP drivers but i can't figure out how to get them on there. It keeps saying that there are no drivers for this hardware on the disk that I put theXP drivers on.
Anyhow, so i decided to try the NT drivers since NT and XP are based on the same kernel. Well that sort of worked but it only gave me 2 simultaneous inputs. So right now I'm not really sure waht to do.
Any help would immensly appreciated!

Assuming that you got them here, you might have seen this info:

"Please have a floppy disk ready to extract files to, you may name your own directory on your hard drive for these files. You will need to remember that directory for when the \\\"Add New Hardware Wizard\\\" asks for the location of the files."

At this point, if I were you I would:

1. Use Add/Remove Hardware or Device Manager to "remove" the 66 card from your system. Note this does not mean to physically take it out.

2. Make sure you have the latest and correct file from M-audio. Looks like that would be driver version 5.10.00.29. The filename is Delta_WDM_51000029.EXE

3. Run this file. It will prompt you to unpack the drivers somewhere (e.g. a floppy or folder on your system).

4. Restart Windows.

5. When it comes back up it should detect the Delta/66 card and auto launch the Add New Hardware Wizard.

6. Go through the Wizard, and tell it to look for the drivers in the floppy/folder you put them in during step 3.

Any more ideas? I tried the above and to know avail. It says that there are no drivers for it in the directory I extracted the drivers into. Should I try changing PCI slots? I have an Asus P4PE board. Any more help would be awesome!

When you unpack the driver files into the temp directory (or floppy) there should be a *.inf file. When you browse to that location during the Add Hardware Wizard, you should select that *.inf file. This is the driver file that the Add Hardware Wizard is expecting. I've done this using the latest M-Audio drivers (for my Delta 44) on both an XP and a Win2K machine without any problems.

Oh yea one more thing. When I turn on my system and the add new hardware comes up, it doesnt say Delta 66 it just says Multimedia Audio Controller. I figured it was just giving it a category until I installed the correct drivers. Also, when I had it going with the NT drivers when I'd record it would not pick up well at all. It was just straight fuzz and static, I was just running my guiatr straight into the omni pres. on the front so it should at least decent correct. No pedals or anything just guitar to pre?
ANyways Im gonna givet he driver thing another shot. Wish me luck!
