Delta 66 doesn't have midi?

I have the Delta 66, and I open programs with a Midi clicktrack, and can't get them to work.


Powertab says that there is no Midi device on the system.


How can I get one? I'm pretty bad with cpu's and was wondering if I can get something that could play this stuff (while still using this soundcard for recording and all).

You would think that such an expensive card would have Midi.

im always late for a party.....

i use the Yamaha S-YXG50 softsynth...it came with a cheapy soundcard i bought a few years ago.....you just download and install it, then go into your control panel,multimedia options and choose it as your midi playback device......viola....

Hardly. For the price, you are getting better quality components such as converters. MIDI and synths are often found on lower level soundcards. Once you get a step above gaming soundcard, such as recording cards, the MIDI option is often optional, or more often, separate. On high end audio cards, it isn't even an option.
 
I have the Delta 44 and a SBlive (for midi). I have my monitors connected to the Delta. But how do I connect things when I want the midi sound to come out of speakers? Right now I have to connect the speakers to my SBlive to hear the midi.

Use a DXi or VSTi. In which case, you won't even need your SB Live. If you like using sound fonts, then try the Live Synth Pro DXi.

The other option would be to run both the SB Live outlets and the Delta outlets into a mixer, and connect your monitor speakers to the mixer outlet.

Simply connect your SBlive output to two inputs of the Delta 44, such as inputs 3 and 4.


This works especially well if you don't record more than 2 tracks at a time. It is also necessary for recording your MIDI output as audio to do your final mixdown.
 
Thanks for the help. I think I'll combine the two tips.
I still that SB for my surround system.
 
one thing about using the Yamaha synth is that it won't do a click track while i'm recording.

Is there a way I can overcome this?

I can pay a price (free would be better though)
 
you can make a click track by just doing a midi track with hi-hat hits....you can do 1 bar and then cut and paste it the length of the song.......
 
yo gidge (or anyone) now when I use it with a program (such as powertab) the sound is delayed.

Do you know how i can fix this?
