Hi,
I've finally decided to go for a Delta 66 (price about 215 us dollars new, but I'm in Italy, where prices are higher than in USA).

I'm going to buy also a new PC, so I asked to Midiman to suggest.
They suggested to go foe a P4 and not a AMD (because of VIA and SYS chipset), going with a MB AsUS P4PE.
at least 512 MB DDR 333mhz.

What do you think about it?
Any suggestion about the system and setup?
(i.e. how much RAM, type, HD type, etc..)

thanks a lot

Go for it. sounds like a good setup.

A couple suggestions:

1) Get as much RAM as you can - it's cheap now, and you can't always count on it staying cheap. And more memory is always better.

2) Get the omni front end for the 66. Way less hassle - otherwise, you'll need a preamp and phantom power. Omni really makes life easy.

3) Use two big hard drives - 60-80gb each. Make sure they're fast. Drives are cheap now, too.

Good luck.

I just got a new comp for christmas. HP PAVILLION which is one of the latest computers and one of the latest P4 upgrades except for the 3.0 upgrade that is sold only if requested.

I have 2.53 ghz
512 mb ram (planning to upgrade to 1024)
P4
80 gigs and I got an extra HD of 8 gigs just to place MIDI files, and programs such as cool edit pro, soundforge, cubase, etc...
cdr-cdrw

it comes with dvd player and lots of USB connections and other shit, but it runs so well, it ain't even funny. It is Lightning. You don't even need cable to be able to dl like it. i got 56 k, and is just like having cable.

and yes, get RAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMHHHHH!!!!!!!
