Delta 44 with Adobe Audition

Ok

Well it's wierd to start with cause normally I can record in stereo, however now I have to set up each track to just record into the left channel (1 / 2 input channel). This then limits me in terms of being able pan-expand the track I recorded as everything is in mono.

In addition, when I then using AA pan a track to the right, I can't hear it playing unless I put it back central or to the left. How can I set the Delta 44 so it records my mic in stereo and then plays everything back stereo?

(Also bearing in mind that I don't want the beat recording WITH my vocal which NOT muting the far left input seems to do!)

Yo, fellow Audition buddy. Move on to better software, the new Audition is way over priced and is bloated.

Anyway, what you will want to do is to set the track to record as mono instead of stereo. You will know you've done a stereo track when you see the little wavies on one side of the center line. This is not specific to the delta 44 card but is an Audition issue as the default is for Audition to record all tracks as STEREO.

That's a misleading assumption...

...it's easy enough to record in mono with Audition. Depending on the version you are using, the appearance may differ, but always there is a button on the left end of the track in Multitrack View where you can select Mono or Stereo. Prior to version 2.0, you select the default (mono or stereo) in the Options/Device Settings window; in 2.0 you click on the bar that displays the input for the track you are recording to and that brings up a menu of all the available mono inputs or stereo input. Select the input you want, track by track, and then go to File/Default Session/Save as Default Session and those inputs will show up each time you open Audition.

i love AA 2.0 and my delta 1010. i don't think i'll ever move away from them :o
