Hey, I just got a sm 57 for christmas to record my guitar amp over some ezdrummer beats I made. But i dont think my current soundcard can take it cause it lags and jumps, and also out of time when recording. So i was looking into a delta 44 for its in/outs which would help me. Im interested in this card, but would it be good for what im doing?

Im using cubase to record also.

Yes ,it is a Good Card and is easy to use but you can not just plug a Mic into it and start recording , You will need a preamp for every mic you want to plug into it (or a Mixer) which is the same for most all Interfaces that don"t come with preamps....

Better?? Well that is Very subjective, Better For What??

Me personally, I wouldn"t touch that device with a 10 foot pole, why?? well first it is a USB device which are riddled with problems, second it only has 2 inputs (actually 4 but you can only record 2 tracks at a Time) Pluss it only records at 16 bit and the Delta records at 24bit so you will have much less headroom.....

I would go for the Delta 44 and get a couple preamps, it might cost you more but you will have twice the inputs and record twice the number of Tracks at a Time and it is more versitile and if in the Future you wanted to add more inputs you could just get another Delta card of any kind and they will work together....

But hey it"s your money and you know more than me what you want to do....

I only have like 90 pounds to spend though, so I thought something cheap. Just something thats great quality for the sm 57 and that I could use as a souncard aswell maybe. Im only intertesed in recording guitar and vocals. Nothing pro or anything just enough to sound good.

Well I suggest you wait till you have more money to spend, to bad you are in the UK were everything is so overly expensive, If you were in the US or Canada you could actually get something usefull for 90 pounds like the Inspire....

See what this unit costs in the UK and save a few extra Bucks and then you will have a Usefull Piece of equipment....
