I think it's a toss-up. They both seem to be robust, have good support,work well, sound great, have very similar specs...

Neither. It's a left/right pair of digital audio I/O on special RCA cables that carry digital data rather than an analog voltage signal. MIDI is sent via MIDI cables or sometimes parallel cables and USB cables. An ADAT connection is similar to S/PDIF but uses a different approach and differnt connectors/cables.

I have a GL Wave 4/24 and I would just like to say that it is INCREDIBLE! Its never given me any problems, sounds perfect and the support is 2nd to none. The only beef I have is that the Wave 4/24 requires me to turn around my computer to get at the inputs but that has been 'fixed' in the 4/96 (b/o box). My 2 cents.
