Delta 1010 VS. Aardvark ANSWERS!!

OK so I just got my Aardvark LX6, and have commenced comparing it with my 1010. First test is minor but it is late and I cannot use my monitors due to roomates who are asleep. So for my first test I have been listening to a lot of songs that I am very familiar with and stuff I have recorded. In this test via headphones the 1010 comes out way ahead. The sound is just fuller and way more broad. To explain this further, I played a song with a stereo recorded guitar track. On the Aardvark it sounded like the guitars were at about 40 % on each end. Through the 1010 it sounded like they were 80%. Much more broad! But it wasn't just the width of the sound there was an added depth that was very obvious.

Now here comes the help from you. Is this due to a cheap headphone amp coming out of the Aardvark or is this the Card itself? If it is just the headphone amp then when I pump the songs through my monitors tommarow then they should tell me better what the card is doing.

Tommarow I will be doing some tests with prerecorded stuff and if I have time I will record some stuff through each of the cards and then I can have a better idea about the A/D Converters.

Please share your opinions on this comparison and if there are any sudgested tests I can do in order to see which I like best. I really want to like the Aardvark better to save me money and space. But I am going to pic the one that pulls through. Right now the 1010 is ahead.
 
So I have been thinking and I believe it could also be the D/A converters problem. Let me know of any opinions
 
I'm a bit curious of how the sound were through the monitors...
 
Channel seperation is a concern with any amplifier...wait till you listen via your monitors.

Yup similar problem through the Monitors (M-audio SP-8b's). I didn't notice the channel seperation quite as much, but the whole depth and roundness of the 1010 still won through. Maybe I just am not tuned enough to know which is "better", but my current ears definatly prefer the 1010. I didn't even bother to try recording with it, because I like the monitoring sound through the 1010 so much better I already decided to keep it. The Aardvark is no slouch though, and I love the interface on the screen. I especially like the option to assign anything to any of the outputs. The 1010 can't have any other outputs assigned to the monitor mixer other than 1/2. Anyone looking to buy an Aardvark? :) Also on the block is:
