I'm interested in this card for the number of inputs/outputs and it supports MIDI... This way, I would not need a Soundblaster type card for the midi... But, would the Delta work with games, like Counterstrike or Unreal or any other Windows type media, MP3's, playing CD's? I'm building a DAW but the computer can't be RECORDING ONLY... my wife would kill me...
Can any of the Delta cards (66, 44) replace your standard Soundblaster type card?

Thanks

I've run a few different games throught the Delta 1010, 'No one lives forever', 'Quake 3', Need for Speed etc, with no problems. Plays mp3's, winamp etc.

The bad news is the Delta cards don't have any onboard sounds, they are strictly input/output devices.

The good news is that they supposedly co-exist very happily with a Soundblaster in the same PC.

Unreal is unreal when you are playing it through wavout 1/2 on the delta 1010.

Actually the sound is unreal on any out. It just pulls you in.

All these games require direct sound.

the delta cards have direct sound on outs 1/2 and emulate it on the ither outs.
