With a Delta 1010 do I need to buy a separate MIDI Interface?

thanks

Don't be insulted by this response, but are you aware that the 1010 has no synth? You can record and play back midi into a sound module or soft synth to/from the 1010 interface. Yes. You can also use that midi port to sync with an ADAT or HD recorder. But the 1010 has no sounds of its own. So if you're not relying on the 1010 for sounds, then no, you don't need a separate midi interface.

ChuckU, I don't understand your last comment, "So if you're not relying on the 1010 for sounds, then no, you don't need a separate midi interface."

How would whether it had an onboard synth or not affect whether you would need a seperate MIDI interface or not?

The Delta has a MIDI interface. You only need a separate one if you need or want more than one MIDI In or Out port, regardless of the fact that it has no on-board synth sounds.

Yeah, I guess my last line was a little unclear. I think we've all answered the question though.
If you want midi I/O, yes, the 1010 has it. The Delta 66 does not for example.
But, unlike a Soundblaster, the 1010 has no onboard synth.

...BY THE WAY ,I´M BUYING THE 24/96 AUDIOPHILE,(CANT TAKE AUDIGY NO MORE,ITS OVER,A REALLY BAD DEAL)DOES IT HAVE INTERNAL SYNTHSZ?
