Delta 1010 Chip code needed

Last week there was a local thunderstorm and some components of my computer were damaged by lightning! My computer is running again but I could not get any sound out of my Delta 1010. The PCI chart is fine and the drivers are running normal. The problem is the breakout box. I found out that there are a few chips fried! I probably can fix it by replacing the 74AC245 line tranceivers. However there is one IC (U8) that I can't indentfy because it's shell is blown to pieces (see close up picture).
Can someone please tell me what the chip code for U8 is? Or is there anyone who can help me get the schematics of the delta? I really want to repair it myself as soon as possible. I have a few projects to finish and I don't want to send it away and wait for a couple of weeks before it gets back.

aye.

sucks..

my guess is that more got messed up than just some IC chips and stuff. i would reckon there is all sortsa problems in there, and it might still not work after you replace those components, or they will just blow again.

I agree. Lightning is a funny thing and chances are your sound card is toast. I would bet that there is a lot more wrong than just one or two chips and it will be cheaper and easier to just bight the bullet and get a new card.

You guys can be right but I think it's worth a try. The PCI card is ok because it tries transferring data to the breakout box. I measured it's signals with an oscilloscope. The 245 transceivers are fried for sure so thats why the breakout is'nt responding. The rest of it seems ok. The transceivers are only 50 cents each and to replace them takes like one hour of soldering. I rather do that first than spending 400 on a new card. So I really apreciate if someone could tell me what type of IC U8 is. I think it's some kind of cheap buffer or inverter IC like a 74xx04 or 74xx05, (AC HC HCT LS ...) but I'm cannot be sure of course...

I did it! Replaced the defective chips and it's working again. Fortunatly no other components were damaged!
