I've heard about problems with the Delta 1010 LT when combined w/ AMD processors. Is this the same w/ Delta 1010's? I'm buying a new pc and the delta 1010. Should I go with the Pentium or is AMD ok?

It's not so much the cpu, it's more the chipsets on the motherboard.

The P4/Intel chipset combo on say an Asus mobo is a very solid, reliable foundation for an audio workstation.

On the other hand, VIA chipsets have beed known to cause problems in the past, and they still don't support some hardware

thanks for the heads up now that I've bought an Abit k8 board with the via chipset lol.....anything wrong with echo laylas and via chipsets?

Not sure about the Laylas. Plug it in and give it a bash. I'm sure it will be great.
My friend has an Asus K8 board with an audiophile and it works OK.

If you do have issues with your chipset, you can always pimp your VIA with some other drivers

Layla (and any Echo hardware) works without issue on Via chipsets, all the way back to KT133's.
