'Delete Silence' function just suddenly stopped working. I choose it, then it seems like it processes, but the wav is still the same with silence at both ends and there is no undo option suggesting that nothing ever happened. Does anyone know what this is?

I don't use the function so, I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Simply highlight the silenced portion of the track, and hit your delete button. Works for me...

Have you got it set up with the right parameters for identifying what silence is?

Yes, the parameters are all good

the 'delete silence' function itself scans the file and identifies silence then inserts the parameter numbers automatically. When I hit 'ok' it acts like it's carrying out the command but nothing happens and when I go to 'undo' it's not there.

I can only explain the last half of the question. If CEP/AA didn't delete any silence, then there's obviously nothing to "undo." As for the rest of it, I don't know...is this a function you use for spoken stuff?

I use this all the time, what did I do wrong?

Yeah, I use this all the time for quickly trimming silence off of wav exports of middle C notes from various softsynths which I then plug in to Reason.

Are you trying to do it on the same clip? Try a different wav, maybe that one has some sub sonic or ultra sonic content that is fooling the detect silence thing.

Got the same/similar problem

When i create a perfect loop and then i save a file tested, on Cool Edit as well as on SoundForge, i get the files with little silences at the end and the beginning.

I suppose it is something wrong with the drivers as it is not specific to any of the audio editors i use.

      :(
