I have an Analog Delay and a Reverb unit (Zoom 1201). The former is mono, the latter stereo. My 388 has two Mono FX Sends (Aux and Effects), my 1201 has two Effects Inputs (Left/Mono and Right). Now for the question.

If I patch the Effects Send of the 388 to the Left/Mono Input of the Reverb does the Right Input automatically stop working? (the literature provided with the 1201 isn't exactly extensive).

If not could I do the following: patch the Aux Send to the Input on the Delay and then patch the Delay Output to the Right Input on the 1201?

If I can do this could I then use the Delay to delay the signal from a channel before it gets to the Reverb?

If so, should I keep the Effects Send Control on that channel at it's minimum? Or can I get some usable effects by combining a delayed verb with a normal one?

I know, I could just try it. But, I just wanted to see if I was wondering into uncharted territory here.

Yes

Sure... but chances are pretty good that you have the capability of setting the "pre delay" on a reverb patch... which would, for all intents and purposes, do the same thing. It is a very common technique to delay the send to a reverb... which is why 'pre delay' is written into most reverb patches.

Yes

That's annoying. How does anyone ever use them as Stereo inputs if the Right Input cuts out when the Left Input is in use?

Erm. The 1201 is pretty basic (the reason I bought it. Didn't want to have to spend several months reading the manual). The only adjustable parameters are: Input, Mix, Output and Reverb Time. There are also controls to select the Character Variation, the type of Reverb (room. hall, plate, etc) and a three way "Bank" switch.
