i got cubase sx3 the other day, i was messing about with the vst drum machine LM-9, there is a delay when i hit a key on my midi keyboard of about 2 seconds to when i hear the sound, what could be causing this?

There are lots of things that can cause latency. A cheap soundcard, not enough RAM, slow processor etc.

Eck

ahhh thats what its called latency...

nope its not any of the mentioned i have a good sound card, plenty of ram and a fast processor, i have no latency problem with reason or any other software

just how overblown are you making this ???? 2 sec??? really? when it's the only thing running??? not wanting to offend but is this a crack??? it's possible that it's making a dongle call and taking a long time to ok it...

why would i do that, yes 2 seconds, yes really and yes when its the only thing running

Go into device setup somewhere and make sure "use system timestamp" is checked.

Make sure you have the ASIO driver for your soundcard selected in device setup.
