I`m about to order a pair of wharfedale 8.2A monitors from deepwater, and i live in europe. does anybody have any experiences with him he`d like to share? is it a safe buy?

do a search on the site. I doubt you will find a discouraging word.
I'm a happy customer.

Me too (monitors and a mixer), but I'm not in Europe. I doubt you'll have a problem with deepwater. All you really need to be concerned about is the fees (e.g. customs) and whether or not you can buy cheaper/less hassle somewhere in Europe. I don't know if other European HR.com members have bought from deepwater. If so, perhaps some will chime-in.

yeah yeah.....and while you're at it..drop a few bucks in the HR.com donation basket for the hookup.....show the dragon some love!

Deepwater is possibly the best person i've bought from. Great customer service... better than guitar center for sure.

The customs shouldn't be a problem as long as you are not ordering a huge amount. My brother lives in Europe and I've sent him some new equipment once in a while.. no problems or extra fees so far.

i did buy mine in germany for 299 euro but they don´t sell them to the same price now.

well, where i live the only place that has them wants about 700$. deepwater offered 450$ including shippment. he also offeres to send it in a "master box" whatever that means so they won`t get damaged, and to include an invoice that says they cost only 50$ so i won`t have to pay customs. thats an amazing deal i know. but what if they do get damaged? and what about warranty outside the US? and will paypal send me my money back if somthing happens? so many questions...

Mine were damaged during shipping (to Canada) but he's taking care of it. He's a good guy.

Is he still available? How do u guys contact him?
I was seriously considering buying from him.

Thanks

Whoa whoa whoa, I would stop right here. I sent this guy $305 through paypal for my monitors on March 23, he replied with "Sure did." when I asked him if he got the money and that was the last I've heard from him. I've PMed him, email'd him multiple times and I've opened up a case with Paypal and he is nowhere to be found. Guy is a fucking crook, simple as that, don't give him any of your money.

Call him and threaten him with wire fraud like I did. I got my money back. I abandoned the idea of getting the monitors after the first month passed with terrible service.

That is indeed unfortunate and would upset me as well.

It sure does not sound at all like the guy I dealt with.

He answered all my PM and personal e-mails with in one to three days as well as giving me a "free upgrade" when one of the items I ordered was discontinued for the higher priced version.

He is a one man operation and travels with his job installing sound systems as well as running a mobile recording service and mixes stuff at home...so don't expect the kind of 24 service and next day delivery you might get from Sweetwater or Musicians friend.

That being said waiting a month for monitors would be very upsetting.

Sorry to hear that your experiences were not as pleasant and uneventfull as mine.

Sadly, 1 bad sale kindof outweighs 10 times as many good ones.

That´s too bad, cause his prices were definitely unbeatable.
I hope he comes up w/ some explanation

thats really odd, mabye he is having medical problems or something...........I hope he is ok, he is a good guy
