Hey all....been messin, with this tune once I discovered some of my drum loops really fit it.I call it elevator style cause there is no vocals....I tried the vocals and my dog still won't come out from under the bed :p !

This is my 1st mixdown...I broke a string on the guitar solo but left it in there for a feel of what I wanna do...wondering how it's sounding so far , I haven't done any eq....did add some verb to the drums(I think to much)....
This is real rough.....

It sounds really good except at the end of each chorus the timing sounds like a train wreck. The last 4 guitar notes should be one count each right on the beat. Once you fix that it will sound kick ass.

Dude ...I know!!! It was driving me crazy...I don't know if the loops don't line up right or I just am missing something...I tried playing it straight, but I kept coming in late on the following verse's....I will definitely try fixing it, it just feels like there is a little timing thing that switches up there I'm not catching.
Thanks for listening!!

Nice. Hey Vari, I downloaded this. I want to try my hand at singing it, if that's cool with you. I was having a bit of trouble figuring out where you were at times, then I realised you used the main riff in the verses, instead of they did in the verses....I think...If my memory serves me well.

Anyway, I better try my hand at this befoe Nakatira grabs it and nails it note for note and scream for scream. :D

EDIT: Never mind what I said about the verses. You got it right. :)

Very cool man, I remember you said a long time ago you were going to do this one. Great tune, I'd love to try some vox on this if that's cool with you (just as always, don't expect much :D ) Mix sounds pretty good, sounds like it hasn't been EQed, but that fits the classic rock vibe there nice IMO. Rocks!

Sweet...oh yeah, would love to hear a snakedog version....have at it!!!!

As long as you're fixing up....hehe...The chicken scratch in the last verse has a definite pattern to it in the iriginal. You might have done it a little looser on purpose, which is cool. But I've always loved his part there because it's one of the few times he actually plays chords during a verse. Also, not to nit pick :)......the last word of the last verse has to be held longer...."We're space trucking every daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I think the band has to hold that for something like 3 bars longer. I don't know if you can fix that. I'm sorry, I'm a little picky about this one because it's one of my all-timers.

It's sounding pretty good to me man...nice tone. I really liked it. I think I hear what Ocnor is talking about, but man, still way beyond my ability...nice.

I'd offer up some bastardized vocals if you want... :D

Good version - so far...
- you are right, the drums have too much reverb. Thet don't seem to sit in the same "room" as the guitars. They do sound pretty hot though - what loops are you using?
- the lead solo is to far back, the rhythm is overpowering it. Are you going to retrack it? The tone is pretty sweet....
- The rhythm guitar tone is great for this song. Beena while since I've hard the original but this stands up well as a guitar tune without the keyboard (blasphemy I'm sure to some ;) )
- this would be good for a collab if someone wanted to do vocals...

:) :D :D

Yeah, I'm a spaz when it comes to recording...I work really fast and was playing this one from memory while looking at the lyrics I downloaded from the net for the part/order of the song.I really dig that scratchy rhythm thing he does in the 3rd verse as well....I need to listen to the song to get a better feel for it I think.Same with that part pre chorus(which gave me so much problem anyways..I think it does need to stretch out a bit.

Listening to your vocals now.....all I can say is wow!! I am humbled to have such awesome vocals on something I did....now I really wanna fix it up!!Dude, you nailed it....

Thanks Dogman... I would love to have a dogman version of this!!!!I think your style would be cool on this!!Thanks for checking it out!

Thanks idol...those drum loops are the one by Simon Phillips that Snakedog turned me on to...I don't know why I added verb to 'em...like I stated...I work fast , and then usually go back and tweek alot...I was pretty happy with the tone as well...that was probably the 3rd try at a solo and my string broke...I didn't save the 1st couple and I probably shoulda...I think the 1st one was the best...I will retrack the solo and then probably address the level issues and get rid of that damn verb :p
Check out Rami's vocals on this...pretty incredible!

I'd do the drums, but I just moved my studio around and didn't run my mic wires yet. Maybe I'll get around to that. I wanted to do this because i still owed you a track. :)

Oh this is so cool.

Great pick Axeman, nicely played.

There is a few bits and pieces that is a bit different than the original.

But all in all its a really good job, nice guitar sound, cool ricko sound on the bass.

And Rami you nailed thos vox like %%%((&   .
Brilliant, I like the way you sung this, sorta made it into a Rami-Gillan show

Very cool indeed guys both of you :)

Very cool!
Listend to just the music and the Rami vocals version. Both great!
