I don't really need it for recording, but I'd like to have an easy access and portable setup. It will be used with a lexicon mx200 for effects. I'm a sax player and want to be able to adjust my own sound at church and on gigs. I was looking at the Rolls rm65 but want to know what else is affordable within a budget of about $150.

Do you want rack mount, or is tabletop okay? You have more options with a tabletop mixer, but if you are willing to buy used, there are some decent rack mixers in that price range as well.

For rack mixers take a look at (used) the Yamaha MV-802 or the Roland M-120. Both these units have an effects send or two.

For table top units, you'll need to look at something like the Yamaha MG10/2, Tapco 6306, or maybe even the Alesis MultiMix8USB. There's a bunch of inexpensive mixers in that price range.

Well, after giving it some more thought and thinking about the future of a full band, I think I am going to go with a Yamaha MG series maybe a 12/4, I figure that's enough for sax, guitar, drums, keyboard, and possibly vocalists.
