Can anyone recommend a decent headset mic for my drummer? he is doing backing vocals but the boom mic isn't cutting it and he wants a headset mic

he was looking at this one but I figured you guys might have some experience with such matters :)

I have yet to find a good one Wes. I gave up with the Shure SM10a.
Could possibly be a good one out there now though.

Under $100, nothing. They all sound like crap. You will be looking at close to $600 and above for anything that works. I would use a SM57 or SM58 on a stand for drum vocals, and instruct the drummer that he will have to sing loud and close to the mic. When he is not singing in songs he must put it behind him / her? facing away from the kit.

Hmmm...what's the drummer for Journey use? He gets a really nice sound. It's probably really expensive though...but it sounds nice :D

You could do what Mike Portney does, he has a mic on a stand that a road crew puts in front of him every time he sings here at 2:12. When he is not singing it spins out the way. Oh to have money.

Alan.
