Decent $500 5 String Bass

I'm finally going to add a 5 string base for my studio. I want to stay in the $500 USA range.

I don't do a lot of slappin' & popin' - mostly playing with a pick. I'd prefer as slender a neck as possible (since I'm more accustomed to guitar necks). I don't need active - but would not go out of my way to avoid.

So - anyone have any suggestions that I can research on line?

You're not going to find a very slender neck on a 5 string. A
student of mine found a new discontinued Schecter 5 string.
It's decent and cost less than $500. Rosewood neck.

Personally I'm a Fender player when it comes to electric bass.
