Here's a mix that I'm working on at the moment:

Thy Legacy - Track 1

These guys are only 16 years old! Let me know what you think.

EDIT: New version uploaded!

Wow man only 16? It looks like you've gotten hold of the next Decapitated. My taste in Death Metal is pretty limited (necrophagist, Morbid Angel, Bloodbath, etc...) but these guys have alot of skill for their age.
I think the mix is pretty good considering in alot of classic death metal the mixes are terrible. The guitars are clear and I can hear everything thats going on. The drums sound dead on, is that an acoustic kit or did you trigger/or use drumagog or something? Only nitpick was that I didn't really catch any bass? Im on headphones though so take these mix comments for what their worth.

Thanks. I used samples on acoustic drums. The bass is kind of hard to get right and I'm still working on with it.

Damn good guitarist for 16! The mix sounded decent but I would bring the bass guitar up alittle. I thought I heard some chuggin at the solo rhythm? Cymbals sound a little hot too. Whats with the rockin solo didn't fit the tune at all. I listen to death/black metal all day everyday. Sounded like some 80's rock band in the solo. I would tighin up the end too I hear him slidin at the end. Ask the guitars to relax a bit sounds like he's forceing his slides. That whole intro is screech screech screech. All in all they sound pretty good. Play around with shit and it should get tighter. GL, HF.

Signal path for guitars:

1. Ibanez RG620
2. Sansamp GT2
3. Hughes & Kettner Tour Reverb 100W Combo
4. SM57
5. DBX Mini Pre
6. Behringer ADA8000 Converter (I would have used my RME converter but it's broken at the moment)
7. RME HDSP 9652

This is a great metal mix if ever heard one. It's exactly what death metal should sound like in my opinion. The amp surprised me, I thought it would be some sweet stack.

Keep it up Daunt!

I'm pretty sure, now, what my next amp will be...

This is the second, but most influential, endorsement for Sansamps I've read in as many days...

THAT is the elusive sound I have been looking for...

Me like.

I liked it, but someone already nailed it: the solo didn't fit at all. It seemed to take the whole tone of the song to a lighter level. Nice playing, all around though.

16? Damn.....

Thank you all for your feedback!

I like it too. Funny thing is that I had to keep the volume on Sansamp very low to get that tight sound. So, I would not recommend that amp if you are going to use it in band rehearsals. You can not get enough volume from it with Sansamp.

EDIT: The links will be back when the final versions are online.

It's late here so I must listen quietly on PC speakers, but what I hear sounds great out of them! That is exactly the kind of metal production I like (and really talented kids). I wouldn't change a thing.

I would go watch em' at a show . But I wouldn't buy it. But as these kids get older their shit will get more original. But the 80's style runs just blow. But they'll get better as they evolve through music. In that song Relapse of Remains there was some timing issues in the beginning where the double kick comes in. But the mix sounds great. Its like a mix between old Cannibal Corpse, with some Dying Fetus/Fleshgrind additude. Sry if I sound like an asshole but I am! I want to see death/black metal survive eternity. Ask him if he could be less scale-ly with those solos.

What he said, but DAMN these guys have potential.
Do you know which model Sansamp they use? And the distortion was straight from the amp, no pedals or processors?

Definitely tell them to write some more "inspired" riffs, the potential is there!

I'll D/L this tonight so I can listen on good speakers...

The Sansamp is mine actually. GT2 is a distortion/amp modeller pedal and we used it with the clean channel of the amp.
