Real nice. You got the perfect voice for this, the harmonies are good too. The distorted guitar is a bit too much on headphones, its a lil too rough compared to the rest of the tune.

The fade thing in the middle isnt quite working. Its a great idea, I dont reallly know how to pull it off, maybe the fade is too abrupt. The song is great, I could see this on the radio. The patch at the beginning might be more "brasslike", it sounds a lil too 80s synth. I am assuming its your Korg? Its not horrible by any means. What it really needs is a real brass band.

Siskel and Ebert version of Davidk's comments... lol....:D

Real nice.
Agreed - one of my all time favorites ever on the board

Agreed - but we could use more of those perfect harmonies ;)

Now there I have to only partially agree. I think the guitar is too loud/present only after the fade - the rest of the time it blends really well... kind of an underlying effect which I liked a lot. As long as it's low it fills in almost like a keyboard.

Agree with you there. Definitely worth working on as you mention. Maybe hold that guitar sustain in the background...

The song is great, I could see this on the radio.
Have to agree with you there - David Allan Coe for example could cover this...
Get an agent!

The outro guitar is FABULOUS
I know DavidK just forgot to say this so I'm paraphrasing him here... "The outro is FABULOUS"

Sorry - you just lost me. :D I know about as much about keys as I do about nuclear physics so I'm unqualified to comment. :D

That was fun - thanks David for doing all the up-front work on this review!

Oh yeah bass and drums - came out perfect IMHO....

:D:):D:)

DavidK, Ido.....thanks for the replies....still tweaking this, I have never had a tune beat on me like this one did.......Most of my songs kinda write themselves(this one almost refused to be written) and I have recorded this 3 times now with varying degrees of success........the damn thing just wants to be a problem child:rolleyes::D

Jay... nice tune. I was a medic in Vietnam.

The keyboard patch at the start is a tad too loud.

Guitar... played well. Too much distortion for me however. Just back off a tiny bit.

Vocals.... perfect for this. I'm not crazy about your reverb, but that is a personal taste.

All in all.... excellent.

BTW... I sent you a friend request at Soundclick. If you get the chance please check out a song I have on my website from a couple of years ago called "Welcome Home". It is my tribute to the friends I left behind.
