i am having a little bit of trouble keeping my Dearmond X-155 hollowbody guitar in tune. is this guitar just a piece of crap or can i do anything to help this. maybe a set up? please let me know any suggestions. thanks!!-ralf

I don't know anything about dearmond guitars, but generally speaking, you might consider getting new tuning heads--ask your local luthier which ones he recommends...also, assuming the neck is not already bolted into place, you might consider finding a luthier who can perform ths mod...

Click on "Guild and DeArmond" forum....lots of stuff to read...or you could join the bbs and use the search function, or ask yer question.....those people are die-hard DeArmond fans and are more than willing to give out information......particularly about the hollows................plus I think they're really good guitars for the bucks......but they're discontinued now...........gibs

The X-155 has some problems, but the tuners aren't one of them. If they are installed and tightened down properly they're perfectly good and better than most.

There's something slipping, probably to do with the way the way it's strung, especially if you are using heavier gauge strings. Could also be how the ball is seated in the tailpiece.
