I went to see Dj Premier friday night, it was really good, but I swear it was too loud. Everyone I spoke to since then keeps hearing little 'eeeeeeee' noises and can't hear certain frequencies.

Does this ever happened to any of you? Do you know if it ever gets back to normal?

Tinnitus...

This has happened to me a few times in my life. It sucks & is scary as all hell. If your shit ain't back at one in a few days, I'd go to a doctor. 48 hours is more than a minute if you ask me, but i've suffered that shit for 2-3 days at a time when it hit me like that. I think the general rule is if it persists more than a week, go see a doctor to make sure you haven't done any permanent ear damage.

After the 3rd time, I invested in some earplugs. Suckas laugh at shows, but at least I can hear high frequencies with no problem the next day. I use 'em when I'm Djing & when i'm mixing for clients & they want shit hella loud.

The only ones I know of are kind of expensive (at least for me), but it was money well spent even though it cut into my Flo' Dough...

Even cheapies are better than nothing. The ones I got simply attenuate the volume so it's not like they screw up what you're hearing, only turn it down a bit...

Fuck my bitch, my ears is the most important mistress in my life...

Yup, hearing protection is no laughing matter.

Unless it's you laughing at those deaf morons.

Which is okay 'cause they can't hear you.

So, yes earplugs are a very, very good idea.

I was afflicted with ringing in my ears for 5 days. It happened at a death metal show a few months ago. You should be alright in few days. It was pretty fucked up to think that I might experience this for the rest of my life. Fortunately I recovered. I carry earplugs on my key chain at all times. People laugh at me when I wear them in their cars. I don’t give fuck though. Most likely you will be ok just dont do it again!!!!!!!

yeah i usually use some plugs when mixing or playing drums. but each time i go to clubs, sure i can't hear right when i get out, but never has it got this worse. it's been 2 days, it got better but still not that good. i was scared hehe imagine i heard this stupid eeeeeeeeeeee all my life.

btw i feel you flo'dolo. my ears are the most important thing... no matter how good i could get writing music, what use would it be if i couldn't hear it. (plus i got perfect pitch ear... imagine the loss. i swear i'd be depressed for the rest of my life.)

well thanks for the answers. sorta had to ease my mind.

you can get these like drummer earplugs that are designed for musicians ( about $15) they sell them in specialist drum centres.

i had a scare a few months ago when Public enemy played, ears fucked next day!
