1st time throwing one out in here. I recorded and mixed this in Sonar. Any comments appreciated.

Thanks
Justin

Smarter people will be along to give you actual constructive advice. I'm just stopping in to say "Welcome," and the tune didn't suck.

:D

Nice mix!

Love that snare! Vocals could be a bit more up front, especially during the chorus. Gets kind of crowded in the mids there toward the end, but overall very good.

One of the gits is oat of tune.... (the clean one on the right)

But the mix sounded pretty darn good actually.

The vox coulda used to be up front a bit more when it got really "driving" towards the end. They kinda got lost. And what did you do to the ride cymbal at 3:30?? It sounds like you've got the compression stranggle hold of death on that thing... :p Maybe lay off the threshold on that puppy just a little... :p

Thanks guys,

There was no compression on those overheads. Mustve been a phase issue. You arent the first to notice it.

Thanks again,
Justin

Oh ya,

One of the guits was out of tune. Im was just too tired to fix it.:)

Thanks,
Justin

Nice recording/tune. The vox get a bit swallowed in the chorus, try less voices and more vol on the center vox.

Right off the bat...Great snare sound!:DSounds like you been at this game for a while.Chill song, too. What Jake Said...IMO,this sound is Potentially marketable.Another Freddy Prince Jr. Soundtrack Hit.(that's not a dis...)Good work.:)

Nice song. I can only echo some of the other comments... The vocals, especially the lead, are a bit low in the mix - in the chorus the backing vocals are plenty loud cover up the lead vox a bit. And one guit is a bit out of tune.

I wonder what this would sound like if the vocals were all doubled. Maybe a doubled part on the electric rhythmn guit. Just thoughts. You might want to experiment...

Trip...

Thanks guys for the feedback. I probably should have added a couple more guitars but I suck playing electric. I was afraid of making a muddy mess. I stay away from double tracking lead vox (too eightys). The chorus was double tracked but a little weak.

Thanks again,
Justin

Sweet!

Vocs are a bit low, refrain's a little thick in the middle, but tune and arrangement are solid. Nice use of dynamics! Like the singer's voice too.

I think the refrain might just be an EQ fix. Plus, I'm listening on crap speakers now, so I could be all wet...

Still, congrats. Especially nice drum recording. What's your setup?

Daf (who works with drum loops so he doesn't have to mic drums) :(

Awww MAAAAAAN! What's wrong with this picture? All those responses, and no serious props to this? GIMMEYAFRIGGNBREAK!

What a nice recording. The arrangement is damned near perfect. The vocals might be a bit too "edgy" (near distortion)... but IMO that could actually work. Drums sound amazing. The reverb on the snare is very interesting... almost like it's inside a 5' x 5' box...

I heard this yesterday, and it amazes that there haven't been any serious thumbs up here. Not that I love the song itself, but the production is friggin 99% perfect. Listen to that ride cymbal from about 3:40 on... isn't that just damned perfect? come on, peeps!

Great job on this; any critique I could do (on monitors) would be very small nitty stuff.

5 for great production.

Excellent production.Damn near perfect use of instrumentation. The vocals just need a little more presence and thats about it.I bet you could do a remix of this in a few days and make it perfect.

Really good song.

Kramer,

Thanks. I just need better preamps. Mine lack good high end detail. If I EQ I just get esss.

Thanks,
Justin
