Please only comment if you own the ddx3216 and "know" the answer to this question.

When You have a DDX3216 with one adt1616 expansion card connected to an HD24 (or other hd recorder) via lightpipe, can you record and playback simultaneously within that fader bank OR must you have an additional adt1616 to allow faders 17-32 to act as tape returns? I'd assume that channels 1-32 can be configured to do whatever you wanted them to do independant of eachother but, I must make sure. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question... I've never owned a digital mixer before.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes.
all the adat inputs are assignable.
so, You can assign channels 17-32 as returns.

Yep I have the DDX and HD24 and that is exactly how I use mine.
When I do a live recording of a band I often play back a few tracks when they have finished.
As all the tracks are allocated to the same faders I used for the live mix, this makes it very easy to do a quick remix for playback.

DDX 3216 Adat 1616

HI
I have just aquired the DDX and on booting(?) it after about 10 mins all the channel and input light flash intermitently. Then there is noise on the headsets and outputs (clicks)
I was wondering if this is a setting I need to find and reset IE; a word clock setting, or Midi setting.

Its not under warranty now.
Cheers

I presume you obtained it second hand as you say it is not under warrantee?

The problem is caused by one of the internal ribbon cables having an intermittant contact. This is also the main reason why channels keep disappearing on the UB series mixers.
IMHO this probably accounts for the vast majority of problems with the Berry gear.

The problem is very easy to put right but it does require some degree of dexterity.

PM me if you require more info.

Many Thanks for the Help
