I just got a dbx mini-pre off eBay, but without the adapter. I don't know anything about adapters, voltages, etc. On the pre it says "9VAC 1.3 amps"
Is the adapter I need easily available? Where could I get one? Does it have to match these specs exactly?

Thanks to anyone who can tell me where to go and what to do!

Go to K-mart... you can get adaptors that have multiple voltages/plug sizes at almost any place that sells consumer electronic stuff.

Make sure you get AT LEAST 1.3mA or 1300A.

Dont go under the amp recomendation ...... i.e. a Boss adapter for guitar pedals, which are 9V 300A.

Also ...... you may want to bring the DBX unit to wherever you go for the adapter because if I remember correctly the power input uses a weird barrel size.

Adapters that put out DC are pretty common, but AC is a little harder to find. Also, 1.3 amps is pretty hefty.

Don's right... that's a lot of current for a wall wart... and AC adapters are not nearly as common as DC. You may find something at radio shack... but your best bet would be a direct replacement (from the manufaturer). I believe Guitar Center will special order for you (I got a ps for my tascam desk through them, pretty painful (expensive), but I'd run out of options)...
