I had the two channel version for a while. It can actually be quite handy as a fairly transparent tracking comp. It's actually not bad sounding at all but also doesn't really add much character.

I've got the 160, and its a good comp, But I always reach for the FMR RNC first and it cost alot less.

Good call, the unbalanced i/o bothers me a little but you're right it's probably a better deal than the 1046.

i have a grand to spend, i wanted to buy 2 sm57's some cables and have 700 left over for a compressor, i've looked at some reviews on the fmr rnc and every one were full of praise for the unit, since i have a problem with my pc and depending on weather i can repair it and how much it will cost or if i have to buy a new one(hopefully it will just work when i get home later :() i wont bother getting the sm57's right now i'll get the fmr

but how do i use it with the korg d3200,

using a y cable do i plug it into an aux and assign it to a channel??

Love my RNC on everything EXCEPT bass. I'm actually looking for a 160 or 166 at a reasonable price and dedicate it to bass.

raven, hope the 'puter is working...both those FMR's are the ones, yep....RNC is a good investment, I use mine for bass drum and snare, and occasionally punch vocal track, I'm wanting to get the levelar (RNLA) and heard its better than the RNC, 'mains to be seen (heard) tho on my behalf...as far as bass guitar, never really tried it, I use a di rack pre-amp and 160 comp for bass and usually comp in the s/w on mic set-ups.

I run my RNC through aux 1 & 2 on Ghost, it allows more pan control in my recordings.

The trick with the RNC and lf-heavy stuff like bass is to use slow release times.

the pc is ok, two days later i was about to take it to a shop, i turned it on pressed f12 and it rebooted, so thats a great relief

i have enough money to get both the RNC and RNLA and have some cash left over for some extra mics

good to hear the comp is up...you may want to consider one or the other on the comps, from what I read the RNLA is a comp, and its better than the RNC for versatility...having both would be nice. I've got this ol' Ashley p26 6 band parametric eq that I use it in combo with sometimes and its a killer sound.

btw...I have every thing John Lennon did, including books autobios, etc..great artist

yeah ive being looking at the two and by what the reviews are saying the RNLA has the upper hand for versatility and adds more sound and character so i might go for the RNLA first and see how that works out might be enough for me at the moment

ya man lennon is a genius
