DAW to Cool Edit

Am I guessing right that I can run from my digital out on my Roland VS-840 to the digital in on my new CardDeluxe soundcard and create .wav files for the purpose of recording to CD (using EZ CD creator)? I've downloaded a demo copy of CE; how do I start the process?

If you are using the VS-840 to do all the multitracking and just need the computer for cd making, just go from the Roland into your computer to Cool Edit and record your audio to a stereo wav file...Then it's ready for ezcd...
