DAW and PC OS compatibility

I am pretty sure I'm going with Reaper. Maybe one day I'll try something that costs lots of money but til then...

Anyway, I run Windows XP-64. I just have my comfort zone with XP. Will I need to upgrade to 7 to run Reaper or possibly other DAWs when the time comes(if there's not an even newer Windows OS.)

Just curious to your thoughts.

No.

I use WinXP and still have a computer that runs it on Win2k. You can even use Win98SE....
