DAW and/or plugins with "big" reverbs?

I am pretty obsessive about really big, open, cavernous reverbs when they are done properly. I'm really into a style called "dark ambient", which almost bases the entire sound on effective (but artificial) reverbs. Here's a small sample with some of what i am talking about:

Anyway, as i am "starting over" so to speak with my recording setup, i am wondering if anyone knows specifically of a DAW that has things like this that have lots of options for shaping. I used to use Cool Edit Pro 2.1 years ago and you could set huge, long, spacious reverbs in it. I always considered it an "inferior" workstation, but having spent a little (granted, not a lot) of time with some other ones, i actually never found the flexibility for shaping those big reverbs as nicely as i did in CEP! Most of the time they kept a fairly "static" stereo image. I know there are probably plenty VST's that i could use (please, recommend as well if you know some!) but if there are built in reverbs like this you know of in specific a specific DAW i would love to know. I need to pick something and get the ball rolling haha. Thanks in advance!

Try GlaceVerb. It's free! If you work with a lot of synths, then I'd recommend Sonar and Ableton. If you work with a lot of audio, then try Reaper. (Sonar and Ableton are still good for audio too, though.)
