Hi, guys,
can anybody tell or guess what's that box?
looks like Heathkit VTVM with "fire burning inside" instead of a meter to me
a preamp? or something...
or is it something famous and obvious, and I'm just too ignorant and uninformed to know - tripple- here.

It's an old strobe tuner. I've got a Conn around here somewhere like that.

SoComSurfing! Thanks a lot. Arghhhhh, this thing was driving me crazy since the first time I saw that video. I thought about and searched for any possible type of gear hoping maybe to find something similar and totally forgot about tuners... heh heh, it even did not flash in my brain for a second -
