I was wondering what the diffrence is between Digital Audio Tape and a DIgital Recorder that advertises recording to "Hard disc." Do they mean Hard discs like for a computer or is that just another workd fro DAT tapes?

The hard disc recorders write data to a computer hard drive, the DAT stores data magneticly on tape. Two different mediums doing exactly the same thing basicly. Hard disc recorders are generaly multi track and a DAT is usualy stereo except for ADATs and Tascam DA-88s and such which are 8 tracks each.
