Thanks to the help of many of you, the first tune I've ever recorded on Cakewalk is done and available for the world to hear! If you're curious what someone with consistently idiotic questions could manage to pull off, feel free to go out and take a listen at http://www.mp3.com/30sos/

Maybe now that I've made it through a full tune, I can actually GIVE a little advice... ;-)> Thanks again for all your help and I'm sure I'll back with more questions (and maybe even a few answers).

Fat...

Sounds good on my 2 inch PC speakers... congrats, you're on the way.... Like the song, too....

...

What kind of synth(s) are you using for those sounds in the background? pretty cool use of them, gives a more professional effect... that "scratching" sound towards the end (around 3:10)was pretty cool at the end too, what was that? (dont tell me you have a turntable! haha :)
Peace,
Paul

Thanks for the post -- glad you dig the tune. There actually aren't any synths on that song (I have yet to tackle the full MIDI capabilities of Cakewalk). Those are all loops. I'm glad you thought they were synths though, that means they fit pretty well.

In terms of the scrathcing, that's a Korg Kaoss Pad. I sampled a pick scratch into the Kaoss, which let's you play a sample like it was on a turntable (among other things). It's a pretty cool unit.

If you really like the tune, I'm planning on posting a couple others in the next few weeks. You can send me an e-mail from my mp3.com page and I'll let you know when I post some new stuff. If you've got any tunes posted on the web, let me know -- I'd love to check 'em out. Thanks, again.
