lots of the songs posted here seems to be more rock or alternative or metal kind of music range

anyone here makes dance music or have any links to dance songs you have created with either software (like reason) or hardware (like keyboards seq or sound modules)

if you have can you please post some up so that i/we could just take a quick peek and hear how some of you sound on home recording equipment vs pro studio recording

it would be nice also to mention some what what kind of gear was used to do your work
you don't have to tell everything
just want to hear what it took to make it sound like that besides the experience or tweaking

thanks

My stuff

PanicJ-Friend

Here's an OLD song I did. Does this kinda qualify?

This was recorded on one of those tiny casio keyboards that I got at a garage sale.
I had a Samson S11 for the mic'ing my voice, plugged directly into my computer's factory sound card via 1/4" to 1/8" adapter. No effects on the voices.

The bass (washburn - no FX) and guitar (harmony flying V) were plugged directly into my (factory standard for the computer) Yamaha computer soundcard via a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter.

The beat was produced in (if I remember correctly) perhaps the first release of Cakewalk... I downloaded individual drum sounds free off the net and placed them note for note and mixed down to make a beat loop. No final processing there either.

I found the old CD laying around and jammed it through my CD player back into my computer (now through a delta 1010) for you to listen to.

This one:
PanicJ - I'm In Love

The beat is Reason, The VOX through a BLUE Baby Bottle condenser and a Behringer mxer with no FX on 'em. I got myself a Gibson Les Paul to jam with but still use the same Washburn bass. All direct plugged into a DELTA 44 when I recorded this.

I'd recommend :
1) Reason for the sound banks
2) Fruity Loops for the sequencing and FX banks
3) Any scoring program for scoring midi like Noteworthy Composer or Anvil Studio

Heres one of my tracks:

This was all done at my house using real guitar, bass, Rhodes 73, Akai S5000, and sequenced and polished on Cubase

When Reason first came out I messed around with it for a bit. Some of the stuff I did for CGI projects (synced to video) can be heard here

Also there's a dance style track we did live that you can hear a bit of here:

What kind of info are you looking for? Lemme know.

Cheers, Rez

Well, here is Euro 80's dance track that I'm curretly working on. It's not finished yet, but it will give you a pretty good idea how a dance track sounds on hardware. I havn't recorded to vocals yet as I'm still working on the fine tuning before adding vocals as this also going to a Karaoke track too..

what I have used to create this track
Yamaha Motif ES
Edirol PCRM80 61 keys MIDI Keyboard Controller
Roland TD 5 Drums
Behringer MX 9000 mixer
Behringer Ultra EQ
Behringer Virtualizer (sp) (for Flanger and Chorus effect on bass line)
Behringer MDX2600 Composer Pro XL (compression on bass track)
Alesis 3630 Compressor (compression on drum track)
Lexicon LXP 15 II (2 of them)
Fostex VF160ex H.Disk recorder (not using onboard effect ot tools)
Event 20/20 Monitor powered thorugh ART SLA 2 amp
Cakewalk 9 Sequencing software
Pentium 4 2.6 396MB system

click on this link below and then click on Hi-Fi on that page to listen to the track. In case you don't know, this is a cover song from a band in Europe called Corona and song is called Rhythm Of The Night

While your there and listening, and if others are listening too, it's nice to get some feedback for improvments or comments or suggestions . . . :)

thanks and have a good one!
