apologies in advance for the stupidest question ever...

my master faders in logic... they're without a scale. what dB scale are they measuring? i've been through the manual thrice and ITS KILLING ME.

I probably shouldn't reply since I don't use Logic, but normally DAWs display dbFS (db Full Scale) where zero is the highest value. Anything above zero is clipping so never go there.

That's what I figured... just wanted tae make sure. I don't like assuming.

In Boston, they don't post road signs on the main roads because everybody in boston knows that you're on Massachusetts Avenue. Why waste any effort telling people what they already know?

Of course, when you're from out-of-town, you're wandering up and down Mass Ave or Commonwealth Ave and you're like... where the hell am I? What street is this? and eventually, after getting dumb lost, you're screaming POST A GOD-DAMN SIGN YOU PURITAN NINCOMPOOPS!!!!

but, in this case, it is me who is nincompooping. laters.

There's no reason to in digital. It's digital, it's dBFS. There isn't any other scale in digital.
