Hi,

I have been using Daedalus' speakers for a few months now for live singing and performing, and I must tell you all that these speakers are in a class by themselves for vocal and acoustic accuracy. You would have to hear them to believe how nice they are. They are hand made of solid walnut, dovetail joint construction. If you are in the market for something special, these are the ones to consider.

Rick, this is called SPAMMING and it's frowned upon in these parts.

Rick's not spamming, he's just letting folks know he really likes Daedalus speakers. I have a pair myself. They are simply stunning.

I think when your first two posts are basically the same, touting a particular product, it's spamming.

Thank-you sdelsolray! You are correct, I am simply expressing my happiness with the speakers. It is difficult to share certain things with others in this audio community, especially unique items that are known to so few. If I were to have purchased some popular namebrand item, more people would jump to respond with their excitement for me and want to share in that spirit. I am just sharing what I have found to be a great thing.

BTW Massive Master, I have been participating as a reader in this forum for a while now. I have learned a few things about recording here that I find valuable. Try to see it this way, I am making a contribution to this forum. In this case about something you know nothing about, so humble yourself and learn something from me, a newer member.

Hi, Rick. Just realize the context here--you have no reputation here yet, and typical spammers pop in from time to time with a few repeated posts like yours. This forum obviously has a long history and some folks remember well.

If you're not a rep, I'd suggest taking some time to add thoughts to other threads, other ideas, before pushing a particular product too strongly. And if you are a rep, I'd suggest identifying yourself as such when posting. I hope you'll stick around either way.

Best,

J.

No, I am not a "rep". Also, I will post according to the rules in this forum. If I have violated any rules, please let me know, because I am unaware of any violations here. I will get around to posting more as I become more comfortable and feel more of a member, but the way I have been treated here does not indicate a warm welcome.

Be that as it may, I will post as I am so inclined within the boundaries of the rules on this forum. Is there anything else anyone has to say? I wish to get on with the business of becoming a happy member.

Ditto. Chalk it up to a rough start, which will be forgotten quickly. There are no special rules here, and no special police, but the spamming issue (which your first posts hinted at) continues to be a sore point for many folks.

So welcome, Rick... there's lots of good stuff and great people here, as you'll soon see.

J.

I reckon theres been a couple of slightly over the top reactions here. It was pretty clear that your just loving your new speakers and want to tell the world....

A couple of posts to mention how pleaed you are with your speakers certainly doesn't wind me up.

I'm a newbie too and reckon theres a few grumpy oldies around this parts.

I've got a pair of daedalus speakers as well that I use for my TV entertainment center. Very nice. I would recommend them to anyone as well.

I'll just pretend I didn't see that one...

Takes deep breath...

Otherwise, welcome to the forum. My apologies for any offense, and I'm a relative "newb" to this forum myself. But I just go by the "if it looks like Spam and smells like Spam, it's probably spam" rule of thumb. And you've got to admit...

88fingers, are yours the SR-823s, or the DA1s, or the 803s? I am curious to know how you found out about these speakers. I discovered a thread in another forum by a judge in Ohio who was selling a pair of the 803s. I talked to him about them, and was interested in having a pair of my own for performing live. They seem to catching on more in the audiophile community, but out of the comfortable price range for most people. I admit though that it was a hard decision choosing a relatively unknown brand, but I was very surprised at the quality of sound.

BTW massive, thanks for the apology in previous post, I appreciate that!

Yes, a little humility goes a long way, doesn't it?

Perhaps you ought to show a little.
