So I recently put a new humbucker in my guitar bridge position. I put on new strings, set the pickup height and intonation. Everything went well, but now when I play, my d-string sounds like its oscillating or wobbly sounding. Any ideas on what might be causing this or how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

First guess: pickup's too close to the strings, and the magnet is interfering with vibration. Second: bad string. Third, bad nut slot or saddle, you just didn't notice before, or it just started.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will try those out when I get home tonight.

Does the guitar have a Floyd Rose? I have a Strat with a Floyd and it did something like that before. It also has a single coil in the neck position which I suspected was choking the string.

My first guess would be a bad string, but it could be the pickup is too close too.

Actually I figured it out, it was the way i put the string on the winding post. looked like the string was vibrating on the little piece that hangs of after I cut the excess off. Thanks for all the suggestions, you all rock!
