Has anyone here ever had an Input Module racked?
I know Brent Averill does some racking, but what I see on his web-site seems to be, not so much custom, but specific.
Anyone know of another Custom racking group/company, other than Brent Averill?

Michael,

I cant help but I think I know who can.....you might try asking this over at tapeop.com

A lot of those guys get into this stuff and usually know of some great and reasonable guys.

Just a thought,

Kinda like the attached pic.

Not sure I'd want a wooden box though. Maybe a vertical rack mount, or something like that.

No, no, not API pre's or eq's. Channel strips. Also called "Channel-in-a-box." (CIB)
It seems like Vintage King Audio may be able to do what I want. (I had forgotten about those guys.)

That's exactly how the API's are used. They take different modules from the boards and put them in a box. They call them a lunch box or producers pack. The API's are cool because you can mix and match whatever you need once you buy the $600 rack with PSU. There are 2 different sizes based on the 500 and 200 series modules.

Yeah, I know how the API's are used, (had my eye on 'em for a while ;) ) but those are just one module, and not the whole channel strip.
Anyway, thanks for the link Tex, I checked out their site. One more place for me to go and dream! :p

I'm not trying to be argumentative here just curious if there is something I'm missing. What is the functional difference between the modules and the whole strip? Do you already have the components you want racked?

Well, maybe I'm using the wrong terminology, so help me out here Tex, but wouldn't a module be like this: attached

Not yet, I want to make sure that I could get something like (the second one) racked with a power supply, and room in the rack for future additions. It just doesen't seem like one of these (attached) is "tall" enough for the second example. Seems like its geared (no pun intended) towards something more like the first example.
