Does anyone have any info on who some good custom guitar dealers and builders are. I am talking about the real high end stuff not the factory crap from fender or gibson. By this I mean Baker, Mcnaught, Mcinturff, etc. I know of ed roman, but is there anyone else with his selection. I know the guy has some amazing stuff, but I also want some other dealers for comparison. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info. I am primarily looking for solidbodies. I just wonder if there are any other dealers like ed roman who deal in multiple high end lines. If anyone can tell me what there experiences with him or other dealers was like I would appreciate it.

you Might try the Guitar PLayer Magazine web site and/or classified section. Bass player had a link to a "Luthieres Access Group" wich was kind of a co-op of custom builders who wanted to spend theri time on building and not on maintaining a website or dealer relations.

It had links to at least 20 top end bass builders.

Here are some links to get started.

Ditto on Linda Manzer, by the way. "Astounding" doesn't do her justice.

Try Rick Turner, who has a long history building electrics (Started Alembic - remember Pink Floyd?)

Or Fred Carlson - a former Vermont hippie. Look what this genius is up to now!
