Ay whats going on fellow engineers, producers, artist, and music heads!? I just have one question and dont worry....its not as complex as some of the others so I'm sure you guys should be able to handle this one with ease. Does Cubase allow you to modify and manipulate vocals better with their options of plug ins and fxs then Acid pro does??? The reason I've asked is because I've been using Acid Pro to capture all my vocals and do all my editing and mixing on for the past 4 years so I'm pretty familiar with it. Lately though I've noticed that there really arent many options to try and get the best sounding vocals possible (studio sounding) other then the few basic fx's (compression,Reverb, delay). I've kinda been getting hinted that Cubase is a better program then Acid Pro...especially when it comes to vocals (its more like protools). Hopefully you guys can help me out with your opinions and suggestions because there can only be room for one on my pc...either Acid Pro....or Cubase.....may the best program win!

Cubase is WAY better than Acid in the editing department, and is far more flexible (Especially in the automation and MIDI department's). If you'd like to add some plugin's to Acid (Especially free one's), go here: http://www.kvraudio.com/

I second everything Atterion says. I haven't used Acid at all, but I can attest for the capabilaties of Cubase. I have used only ProTools and Cubase, and even between those two, I would rather have Cubase. The KVR Audio plugs are awesome quality for freebies as well. Another real good group of free plugs (I use for vocals in every mix) are here. Good luck on your decision! (Ahem!pickcubase!AHEM!) :D

I'll second the Digital Fish Phones, especially their "Fish Fillets" package. There are so many excellent plugins for free these days (And some not so excellent ones), you'd be a fool not to grab some. I'd say get some plugins and use them in Acid Pro, and see if maybe you'll get what you think you are missing now without having to spend a bunch of new money on a new software package (Not that I'm trying to steer you away from Cubase, because it'll give you everything you thought you needed, and so much more too). Definitely spend some time at the KVR Forums, and you'll be able to quickly weed through the endless sea of plugin's and find some you're going to really like. Good Luck! :D
