Greetings,
I've just started using Cubase SX3 for the first time this week, and I have a situation where I imported some wav files in a new project, tweaked around with the song a bit, saved it and closed it....That's the good news.
I then imported more wav files for a 2nd song to try to tweak with that one. When I go to play the song on the new project, it plays the wav files for the 1st song as well as the 2nd song. So basically, I have 2 different set of wav files playing at the same time for one big ball of confusion to my ears.
I read through the manual specifically looking for anything on duplicate files, but all I get is a bunch of info about "duplicating tracks". I close Cubase without saving the project, open up Cubase again, start a new project, and the same thing happens again.
When I go to the mixer screen, the tracks are labeled correctly for the song that I want to tweak with, but the audio coming from those tracks aren't the same.
For instance, I might solo the bass track for the 2nd song, but in actuality, it's a totally different track altogether...it might not even be a bass track.
It's almost as if if the tracks are overlapped on top of the previous tracks. When I check the manual for overlapping, the manual speaks of some other type of overlapping.
When I solo the tracks, it's still the wrong track that I'm soloing. I might mute the track that's labeled as guitar for the 2nd song, but the audio is really from the previous song. I can start all over from scratch again, and it works for the 1st song, it'll play all the correct wav files. When I save the 1st song, open a new project, and import audio for the 2nd song, 3rd, 4th, etc, it'll play all the wav files for all songs ever imported in Cubase.
I just ordered the 3 levels of the ASKVIDEO DVD Training Tutorials for SX3, and I should have it by next week sometime. Can someone please help me to get past this situation with more than one song loading up even though I only import wav files for one?
To top it off, I try the same thing in Nuendo 3, and the same thing happens. All I get is 2 or more songs playing at once.
I'm really bummed about this one.
Thank you all for your forthcoming responses.
