Cubase SX

Looks pretty cool to me. I was thinking about Nuendo...now I'll wait for this or buy Cubase/32 and upgrade when it comes out.

The users in the Nuendo forum on the Nuendo website are rather peeved, however.... I hope Steingburg gives them an upgrade option. Nuendo still has major advantages in the video/post production world, but the users who got it just for better audio editing are quite upset.

they put both programs together...nuendo/cubase vst 32= cubase sx... cubase has the bigger name right now so i think thats why they called it cubase sx over nuendo 2... i still use nuendo and cubase though... i gon't like the new mixer in cubase sz

Whoops! No OMF support

Looks like Steinberg is thinking a bit more carefully about positioning of Cubase versus Nuendo. SX won't have OMF import/export for compatibility with ProTools.

Official Steinberg Media Technologies AG statement - Positioning of Cubase SX and Nuendo

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure those Nuendo customers who have asked why Steinberg is not presenting a new version of Nuendo at Frankfurt this year.
Nuendo is, and will continue to be, the flagship of Steinberg´s product range for the foreseeable future. We are merely honoring the fact that the trade fairs and events that occur throughout the year cater for differing sections of the music industry. For this year, we planned the announcement both of the new Cubase SX at Frankfurt, and an outstanding new version of Nuendo at the AES in Munich in May. We are convinced that this new version of Nuendo will meet the very high standards of our customers.
