Does anyone have a success story or disaster story with this setup, I have a pc with cubase-sx and I want to know that if I spend the $1350 for the MOTU 24I/O CORE SYSTEM WITH THE PCI424 CARD, that it will run like butter. I want to record 16 tracks simutaneosly using a mixer like the alesis "studio 32" console with 16 tape-outs.

Your experience in this area would be greatly appreciated !!

I have ordered a MOTU 24 i/o to my Cubase SX. I have not used it yet becouse it has´t been released yet here in Europe. I will get it his week. I will post you when I have tried it. Acording to MOTU support it should work great with Cubase SX.

THANK YOU BASEM, I WISH YOU SUCCESS ON YOUR 24I/O. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT HAPPENS, I HOPE IT'S ALL GOOD ...

Successful 24I/O with VST/32 5.1

I haven't tried it with SX but do have a successful setup with vst/32 5.1.

I usually have about 5-8 instruments going through an Alesis studio 32 mixer and then into the 24i box. I'm very pleased with the quality of the recordings and do recomend this product.

I used to have an Maudio omni studio, and am much happier with this.

I picked up my 24i/o core system with the soundcard for about $625 on ebay in like new condition. $1350 is alot to spend, so you may want to try to find a used one.

Good luck.

Is the card on Ebay allready? It has not been on the market for a month yet. Don´t you mean MOTU 24 i? Ohh well.. I have tried mine now and i´m very happy with it. Very good sound and it is stable as rock under Win XP (Home edition).. I can recomend it for profesional work.. :)

24i/o w/ pci-324

Ah, the 24i/o unit and PCI-324 card I have is about a year and a half old. I see that there is a new model out with an new sound card.

Any major upgrades that you know about?

I have never used the 24 i with the 324 PCIcard so I can´t say. The new 424 PCI has a DSP chip on it that eases the computer processor wich is great. The soundquality is GREAT under 24/96. 110 db range i think it was. The 24 i that you have only has 24 channels in and not out. The new 24 i/o has it both ways. And it is VERY easy to install and works GREAT with Cubase SX and WinXP (HE).
Like I wrote before, I can highly recomend the system
